  • More than 20 years of experience in Tax Litigation and Advisory Tax Law in renowned law firms.
  • Advised major cosmetics industries in the preparation of defenses against tax assessment notices related to special State VAT (ICMS) regimes (+BLR 500 million), Federal Excise Tax (IPI) issues concerning industry-distributor tax planning (+BLR 200 million), and IPI/Import Tax regarding classification of goods/Harmonized System (+BLR 200 million).
  • Assisted international franchisors, restaurant chains, and hotel chains in structuring their activities in Brazil. Participated in tax due diligence for a municipal sanitation company in the Brazilian Midwest Region.
  • Assisted Highway Concessionaires in tax due diligence processes in M&A and issues related to the incidence of the Municipal Service Tax (ISS) and Municipal Urban Real State Tax (IPTU).
  • Assisted English and American law firms in structuring their activities in Brazil.
  • Assisted an Italian chemical company with an annual turnover exceeding €215 million in structuring distribution and commercial representation contracts in the USA.
  • Conducted various oral arguments before State Administrative Tribunals, the Administrative Council for Tax Appeals, State Courts, and Federal Regional Courts.
  • Coordinated the Brazilian part of a simultaneous carve-out project in 16 countries for the division of a German automotive parts company’s business, involving special regime planning, rationalization of ICMS credit utilization, and filing lawsuits related to social security taxation issues.
  • Engaged in judicial litigation at all levels and types of tax proceedings.
